Why join in?

  • Be part of a global celebration of movement for health and wellbeing and a community of MOVE Agents who find fun and create ways to get more people active - like using the stairs!
  • No Elevators Day is an opportunity to show how we can #UseTheStairs to add a boost of physical activity to an average day - at home, at work and in public spaces.
  • When you lead by example by taking or using the stairs on No Elevators Day, you are helping to create healthier habits among your peers and members of your community.
  • You will burn calories, not electricity, by using the stairs instead of elevators or escalators and contribute to a healthier, more active planet. We are all in this together!

  • Emma McClarkin Member of European Parliament, ECR

No Elevators Day is a great idea. It’s about just taking that moment to not take the short cut, but to actually raise your heartbeat, take those stairs, reach for the top and get that extra exercise in. Get those extra paces into your day. So I think it is a marvellous idea. And when somebody always asks me what’s the fastest way to the top, it’s walking up an escalator. Don’t just stand still, be active!

  • Mirela Bitan Secretary, Romania

It’s such an easy way to take care of your health! We wish it would take place at least once a week, EVERYWHERE, and hopefully taking the stairs becomes a reflex!

  • Ivan DimitrovIPSOS Game Changers Manager, Bulgaria

None of our employees were opposed to taking part in the initiative, we are even thinking that it should not be just one day but more days of the year.

  • Donika Rizova Media Group Investor, Bulgaria

We joined for a second consecutive year because we believe in a healthy lifestyle. Our employees are active, come to work with their bicycle, and use the stairs at work and at home. For us it is a way of life, and we hope by getting into No Elevators Day we will motivate our viewers to use the stairs.

We believe
in the power of inspiration.
